After graduating from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, I began working full-time as a barista in a vegan, organic, gluten- and sugar-free café. I purchased a silicone fake pregnant belly with my first salary.

I would put it on in the morning and stop by a photography studio or a photo booth on my way to work and spend the rest of the day wearing my bump, making a bridge between my artistic practice and my daily obligations.

Later, I started wearing my bump on my off-days, to do grocery shopping or to hang out with friends.

I became the one thing I see many people become when they don’t know who they want to be or what they want to do.
